Held annually the weekend before and after Thanksgiving, A Christmas Gathering in Brockway is a hometown event featuring local crafters and businesses. The festival boasts a large selection of unique hand-made and one of a kind crafts. True though this may be, one of the great appeals to Christmas Gathering is the warmth and energy of the event. The main drag of this tiny town is electric with Christmas jollity with businesses and open houses. A Christmas Gathering is the perfect way to get a jump on holiday shopping while receiving a generous dose of holiday cheer.

Nearly two dozen local businesses, crafters, and open houses participate in the event. The homes and little country stores are loaded with specialty merchandise including homemade crafts, holiday decorations, antiques & collectibles, and hand crafted furniture, not to mention delicious baked goods, fine regional wines, and foods. The library hosts a book sale and is open and running all days of the festival except Sundays. Most vendors are open both weekends, but some are only open one of the two weekends or close on Sundays. Best to consult the website ahead of time to determine what will be available.

A Christmas Gathering is mostly geared towards shopping, but it is certainly a kid-friendly event. Some shops and vendors are specifically geared towards fun toys and gifts and through the weekend Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus can usually be found between one or two vendors! There are plenty of stops through the event for food. Open Houses tend to go the extra mile to pamper their guests with refreshing snacks and hot drinks, which makes the event that much more enjoyable and personable. Restaurants run deals on food for the events and special entrees and desserts in celebration of the gathering. Local churches host luncheons with tantalizing soups, sandwiches, and homemade baked goods.

Admission is free and parking is in town.
