The American Freedom Festival is East Stroudsburg’s gallant salute to America every July 4th.  With plenty of live entertainment, fun rides, great contests, and lots of food, it is a fitting celebration.  Better still, this festival sponsored by the Eastburg Community Alliance is dedicated to keeping the festivities largely free and easily accessible to the community.   Set in beautiful Dansbury Park, Freedom Festival, with its glorious fireworks show and great amusements is a sure-fire win for the whole family.

The fun starts early in the morning with the Freedom Festival 5K.  This run through the park is sure to get the blood pumping and the spirit flowing.  Later, at the Liberty Fun Fair, kids and adults can enjoy carnival rides and boardwalk-style games.  There are prize drawings, street magicians, clowns and more.  The Kid’s Kingdom playground is great entertainment for the little ones, and fun activities like face painting will keep everyone engaged and happy.  The American Spirit stage keeps things hopping through the day with top acts from the Pocono area.  A steady stream of live bands, karaoke, dance troupes, and DJs maintain a very festive air.

The big show during the day is the Artisan and Merchant Bazaar.  With nearly three dozen booths of the areas finest crafters, there is something for everyone.  Wares include festival staples such as pottery, jewelry, wood crafts, and artwork.  Food vendors along the midway offer an impressive array of food choices.  Over two dozen local and professional food vendors serve everything from hot sandwiches, to funnel cakes, to italian ice, and delicious pastries.  At the end of the day, as the events wind down, the sky ignites in a blaze of patriotic glory as the American Freedom Fireworks Spectacular carries the festival into the night towards a very satisfying end.

Admission is free. Parking is limited.

The festival organizers are excited about the carnival and fireworks; however, we do not have as many arts and crafts vendors as in years’ past. Don’t let that deter you! The fireworks are fabulous and Dansbury Park and pool offers a fun and safe play area for the kids. Happy 4th!
