Get into a spooky Halloween spirit with the Fall Furnace Festival. Held at the historic Pine Grove State Park, this festival is jam packed with educational and fun activities sure to delight the family!
Build a scarecrow or carve a pumpkin. Show up early on Saturday to dip your own wax candle and use it to illuminate your jack-o-lantern. Kids can make their own nature crafts. Stay late Saturday night and gather around the bonfire at the ironmaster’s mansion to hear the local fable of Hairy Hand. Also Saturday night, all the carved pumpkins are put on a floating display on Lake Fuller!
There are plenty of craft vendors selling rustic crafts and food vendors serving seasonal treats. Observe daily demonstrations like charcoal making, cider pressing, chainsaw carving, and broom making. Local history talks and scavenger hunts are sure to entertain kids and adults alike. As well, there is live music both days and hayrides.
Admission and parking is free and most of the activities are free. Bring your own pumpkin or buy one at the park. There is plenty of camping available at the state park if you want to stay Saturday night.
