At the annual Home for the Holidays at Sligo, they really do mean “home for the holidays”. This tiny but much beloved festival is a town-wide craft show which invites guess not only into the establishments of participating businesses, but houses as well. Homes and businesses alike decorate for the season, put out homemade foods, and set up amazing crafts and toys for purchase. That this shopping event is as much about open houses as it is anything else means that old-time feeling of love and community is sure to swell.

At Home for the Holidays, a craft show it surely is. In addition to the aforementioned homes and businesses, the local community center hosts a collection of vendors. Between all three venues exists an eclectic collection of hand-crafted toys and crafts perfect for holiday gifts, as well as antiques, decorative art and Christmas ornaments, homemade candies, and valuable collectibles. Selling and open houses start in the late morning and run into the evening. Home for the Holidays is held in conjunction with A Christmas Present in adjacent Rimersburg, and both combine for a full-fledged and dynamic festival experience.

Admission is free and parking is in town.

This is a GREAT craft and gift show with lots of stops along the way! Very festive with all the homes, businesses and churches decked out for the holidays – really gets you in the Christmas spirit! We go every year with a few carload of girlfriends and also visit the town of Rimersburg only a couple miles away for their all day event too “A Christmas Present”. Fun girls day out and great food at the local churches, plus lots of homemade soups and baked goodies to take home. We love it!
