If you are a gear head, a mechanic, a car enthusiast, or just anyone who appreciates a good auto show, then you must attend Motorama. Motorama is the largest indoor motor sports event in America. Races of all types are open to all competitors who register, and Motorama draws some of the best talents in motor sports from all over the nation. The biggest event at Motoarma is the same event that started it all – Arenacross. Arenacross utilizes the large track floor at the Farm Show Complex to create not only a racing track, but a proving ground. Racers from all over the country flock to Motorama for Arenacross, where they can compete in various classes to take home top honors.
One of the more impressive shows at Motoarama is the Quarter Midget races. In these races young drivers compete against each other and challenge their skills, of which they have a good deal. No car racing show would be complete without Go kart racing. A large arena is dedicated to Go Kart Racing and is sure to be as exciting as it is fun. For more light hearted entertainment, great rooms are dedicated to RC racing and the very popular Robot destruction matches. In both contests, watch as people pit their homemade machines against other gear heads to battle out to be the top dog.
Motorama has become as well known for its car show as it has it’s racing. The size of the show is astounding. Nearly one million square feet of show rooms display everything from turn-of-the-century antiques to the latest automotive marvels. The car show has a little bit of everything, from hot rods, to movie cars, to tuners, muscle cars, antiques and so much more! Thousands of dollars worth of prizes are awarded for various awards, and the show (like the races) is open registration to all who qualify.
Admission is moderate but is inclusive of all events. Races are all weekend long but the multiple arenas continually fill up so arrive early to get a spot. Parking is free.
