Anything that Floats

Website: Anything that Floats
Address: Children's Lake Boiling Springs, PA 17007

“Anything that Floats” is a segment of the Carlisle Summerfair that deserves a listing by itself!  Anything that Floats is held on the Children’s Lake in Boiling Springs, right around the July 4th Holiday, usually on the Saturday closest to the 4th of July.

The Children’s Lake ranges in depth from 4-6ft and is a CONSTANT, CHILLY 52° year round!

In Anything that Floats, teams ‘create’ their own vessel and then paddle that boat from one end of the lake (near the Boiling Springs Tavern) to the other end (near the Mill and the Boiling Springs Pool).

Of course, the main idea is to be the fastest boat to make the trip – but most of the fun is watching to see which team is going to make it at all!

Anything that floats is really fun (sometimes a little disorganized), but watching these “not fit for water” boats heading down the lake can be hilarious. There is quite a bit of creativity involved as well.

It is a fun side-trip for a few hours on a weekend.
