First Night Oil City

12/31/2018

Website: First Night Oil City
Address: Oil City, PA

At First Night Oil City, ring in the New Year with a surprisingly vast schedule of live performances and events.  First Night is a great way to celebrate the old and the new while enjoying Oil City at its best.  With over a dozen venues playing over a short night, there is plenty to see and something for everyone.  Come enjoy an alcohol-free environment loaded with entertainment that will start the New Year off with a bang!

Performances at First Night Oil City include everything from cover bands to opera.  All of the performances are repeated multiple times through the evening so visitors have till midnight to catch as many shows as they please.  The performances are indoors but don’t forget to bring a coat.  The venues are all over town, and while a shuttle is available for transport, there will still be plenty of time outside while traveling between shows. Just before the fireworks, First Night sponsors invite all visitors to join a procession which marches across town to the Justus Park and the fireworks viewing gallery.

Many of the performances at First Night Oil City are adult oriented, or at least best suited for older children.  However, there are some great events for children, including balloon twisting, weird science experiments, and ventriloquism. For families with small kids and those not wanting to stay out late, some performances are earlier than others and the fireworks show is relatively early.

Buttons are required for admission to all the events and can be purchased for a moderate price.
