At the Heart of Lewisburg Ice Festival is a festival the character of the community is proudly displayed. Emblematic festival events are executed with a blend of flare and poise that is unique to Lewisburg. A traditional pancake breakfast and chili cook-off mixes seamlessly with an elegant chocolate sampling and live band music and traditional coral concerts compliment one another. A trip to the Lewisburg Ice Festival is bound to enthrall and entertain people of all ages and warm the hearts of all who attend.
Friday night, watch as professional ice carvers work to create frozen masterpieces. The Ice sculptures which line Hufnagle Park are large and beautiful, and some are interactive. Sit atop massive animals, climb through ice castles, and get your picture atop these works of art. The fun continues with games for children in Hufnagle Park and at various places throughout town. Families will love story time at the local bookstore and free movies at the Bucknell Campus theatre. The Frosty 5K is a great way to shake loose those tired winter joints. If your taste is for the more extreme, then take the polar bear plunge, held on Saturday!
Late night shopping on Friday is a must, with special Ice Festival sales at participating shops. Saturday morning is the pancake breakfast, hosted by the Lions Club. At the Chili Cook-off, patrons can sign up to taste all the delicious creations and vote for their favorite chili concoction. The Chocolate Lovers Festival is a fun little caveat to the Ice Festival. Paying guests can enjoy hors d’ oeuvres in addition to all the chocolate your heart desires. A kid friendly Cocoa Fest takes place earlier the same day. Live music is available all weekend, including an all a capella concert showcasing Bucknell’s many singing groups.
Many events require a nominal entry fee.
