You don’t have to be a club member to come and enjoy the Kiwanis Winterfest, and you’ll be glad you were able to attend. The Kiwanis Winterfest is packed with an amazing array of indoor and outdoor activities and contests that are sure to delight and enthrall visitors of all age. There are races and contest of every imaginable caliber and fun activities for the family. The festival is only one day long, so arrive early and don’t miss a thing!
A 50 mile dog sled race starts the day off with a bang. This race is professionals only, but a man-sled race follows after, open to all who register. The ice-fishing derby starts early in the morning and runs all day. Snow shoe and cross-country ski races are open to all who register and are great ways to get in on the Winterfest joviality. For the super committed, there is an amazing polar bear plunge. Participants must raise money to cover a hefty registration fee, but the prizes are no joke. Past prizes have included everything from a Caribbean cruise to a brand new car!
Vendors are on hand selling homemade wares and games for the family are sure to delight kids of all ages. During the day visitors can watch as professional sculptors carve out amazing works of ice art. Relax and enjoy the afternoon with snow sculpting and horse rides or try your hand at inner tube races. The Kiwanis famous breakfast is served in the morning and hot food and drinks are available all day long.
