Small town America is back with what is known as the Mercersburg Springfest. With a dedicated collection of sponsors and volunteers, the Mercersburg Springfest exhibits a kind of organization and excitement usually reserved for larger festivals. But this local gem though expertly executed, somehow maintains the intimate feeling that only a well-groomed town and tightly knit community can ever provide. What results is an afternoon of small town Americana mixed with the exhilarating and satisfying rush of social and artistic engagement. Fun for the family, and fun for the town, the Mercersburg Springfest is at once engaging and yet somehow vast in it’s offerings. In any event, it is more than worth the afternoon for the chance to reconnect with yourself and others..
With pony rides at the local elementary school, a free rock-climbing wall, and a free bounce house, the Mercersburg Springfest is a perfect event for families with kids. Professional face painting will be available as will balloons and the like. For adults, there is a beer tasting in the afternoon. Throughout the festival are musicians playing and nearly a hundred local and regional artisans line the downtown. Local businesses and organizations also join in as sponsored booths and food vendors. Too much cannot be said of the food at the Mercersburg Springfest. A tremendous spread of concessions covers an eclectic collection of BBQ, Funnel Cakes, Tacos, Kettle Korn, Taters, Italian Ice, Thai Cuisine.
