Since 1978, the Midland 4th of July Parade and Celebration has been one of the best and most anticipated annual summer events in the county. The celebration unofficially kicks off as people gather in the restaurants and taverns along Midland Avenue to reconnect with old friends and get ready for the following day’s festivities. Then the parade makes its way down Midland Avenue (Rt. 68) and along the town’s charming, brick-lined streets, before ending at the grandstand at the top of the park in the center of town. Featuring floats, high school bands, vintage tractors and cars, clowns, and so much more, the parade is always a great kickoff to the Independence Day festivities.
After the parade, everyone grabs their lawn chairs and picnic blankets and heads down to the park behind Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School for a day of food, fun, and entertainment. In addition to carnival rides and food vendors, guests can enjoy live music all day long from some of the most talented musicians in the region. Later on, when the sun goes down, the skies light up with the incredible fireworks show. It’s truly one of Beaver County’s premier summer events, and it’s definitely the best day of the year in Midland.
