Since 2008, the NEPA Bluegrass Festival has been a beacon for the best bluegrass music in the whole area. This 3-day event has consistently drawn faithful crowds through it’s high-quality acts and fantastic venue. Held at the Lazy Brook Park, this first-class venue is adorned with plenty of shade, a meandering creek, and totem poles and various wood carvings. Plus it is easily accessible for bands and patrons alike, with a cross-stitch of asphalt driveways and landscaped walking trails. As an added bonus, camping is available right at the festival. And while guests can bring their own food, the festival is socked with tremendous assortment of concession vendors.
In what becomes three-day-straight marathon of the best bluegrass music around, the NEPA Bluegrass Festival puts a dozen of the regions best bluegrass acts take the stage over three days to fill nearly two dozen spots, over two stages. Pickers and strummers are encouraged to bring their instruments and collaborate at Danny Stewart’s Jam Tent. Workshops are held through the weekend as well, for any musicians trying to up their talents. A moderately-sized craft show accompanies the festival for those who need to peel away from the stage area to recoup. Light assortments of handmade crafts as well as artist merchandise, and musical supplies can be found among various vendors. And with kid-friendly programs such as games, crafts, scavenger hunts, and storytelling, the festival is fun for the whole family. A community church service is held on Sunday morning.
Free camping is available for patrons with a weekend ticket. Dogs are permitted, but not allowed near the stage area. Admission prices vary, and early bird specials are available. Parking is free and on-site.
