The Quiet Valley Harvest Festival has something for everyone. There will be lots of entertainment, games and contests to round out the festival. Lots of great Food available to purchase. There will be demonstrations of many early American skills and crafts, such as broom making, oak split basketry, spinning, weaving, yarn dyeing, tatting, quilling, outdoor brick bake oven, Dutch oven cooking, butter making, and rope making. Plenty of good country food, folk entertainment (on the stage and around the farm) and a variety of activities for children including “Pumpkin Decorating”, Old Time Games, One-room Schoolhouse, pony rides, wagon rides and storytelling will abound. Don’t forget to buy a few raffle tickets for our beautiful festival quilt!
The Civil War Encampment is always a favorite at Harvest Festival. The 142nd Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, Co. G Re-enactors will portray the drill and every day life of soldiers in the 19th century giving visitors a glimpse into history and local heritage. Look for the French and Indian War Guard also.
All demonstrations and food are under tents. We always go rain or shine.
