The Skytop Holiday Arts Festival knows the best holiday shopping is the kind that avoids that frazzled feeling that comes with frantic last minute errands. The seasons were meant for time with family and enjoying the little things. Barreling through stores like a linebacker on pass rush is hardly the way to ring in the spirit. This season, get a jump on your gift list with the Holiday Arts Festival. Enjoy this no-stress easy going festival today and that kiss under the mistletoe will be so much sweeter having everything done!
At Holiday Arts Festival more than fifty vendors from across the area display high-quality crafts. Especially well represented are hand-thrown pottery, wooden furniture, fabrics and apparels, jewelry, and stained glass. The festival also hosts a wide variety of visual artists working in an equally wide variety of mediums. As part of the annual tradition, the festival also keeps open space for area students to showcase their work. Surprising and impressive works of art from students include the Pocono Homeschoolers and Evergreen Community School students. The festival also showcases one or two young artists as the festival’s emerging artist from the community.
The Holiday Arts Festival is predominately consumed with the craft show. However, there are a small selection of side events to keep things interesting. For starters, there is the lodge itself. Skytop Lodge is an amazingly beautiful lodge surrounded by stunning scenery. The folks at Skytop are eager to celebrate a holiday and it is no hard guess at just how spectacular their holiday decorations really are. The quality of the food at Skytop is superb too, but the festival itself is lacking in food selection. Visitors would be well served to plan a lunch or dinner accordingly. However, being at one of the best lodges in the Poconos, there is plenty of room in the way of overnight accommodations.
Admission is free and parking is free.
