Since 1976, the annual Sugarloaf Crafts Festival has been one of the most prestigious and revered fine arts festivals in the state. Artists and crafters flock from all over the country to participate in this festival. For three full days over 350 vendors are on hand selling and display fabulous works. Being a juried fine arts and crafts festival, there is a lot of clout to be one and a lot of notoriety to be amassed for these talented artists and crafters. With plenty of food, music, art, and wholesome family fun the Sugarloaf Crafts Festival is a guaranteed good time. Being held indoors, it runs regardless of the weather!
Sugarloaf boasts an amazing quality in product and is some of the best selection around. A large variety of goods ensures there is something for all tastes. Jewelry, pottery, furniture, home accessories, glass works, and photography are just some of the exciting crafts and art at this festival. The event is refreshingly inclusive, sporting up-and-coming artists alongside nationally recognized masters. Sugarloaf Crafts Festival is surprisingly interactive. Visitors can watch masters at play in copper spinning or iron forging. Paper makers, wood carvers and toy builders demonstrate the fine intricacies of their craft.
For the children there are fun shows, including a theater where kids don costumes and help perform the stories. Live music plays all weekend, and includes everything from bluegrass to jazz ensemble. Entree foods are limited to the expo center concession, but there is an inspiring berth of food vendors. Everything from oils, syrups, jerky, chocolates, and wine are sold. By in bulk or as a snack, these treats are sure to delight!
