The Details:

The Coal Festival is a celebration commemorating Blossburg and the surrounding areas rich mining history and the diversity of our ancestors. In 1792 coal was discovered in the Blossburg area during the building of Williamson Road. Coal quickly became a valuable resource that brought many people to the area to work in the local coal mines. Many of the towns in our area were created because of the mining that took place. Although mining no longer takes place in the area, we honor our history and heritage with the annual Coal Festival. This years event includes the Car Bike show, parade, craft vendors, food vendors, entertainment, bounce houses, fire works, ball tournaments and more, New this year is a reptile exhibit, quilt exhibit and sale, bike games. We will also offer free registration for car show and free vendor spots for handmade crafts, and more.
