The Details:
The Stahlstown Flax Scutching Festival offers comprehensive demonstrations of the process of making linen from the flax plant. Attendees can enjoy a variety of activities including great homemade food, local crafts, and displays of antique farm equipment. The festival also features live music, a dedicated local history area, and a children's activity zone. A living history area provides re-enactors, encampments, and demonstrations, culminating in a raid on the homestead to represent historical hazards. The admission fee covers all festival demonstrations, displays, events, and concerts.
