The Details:

This annual three-day event, held the last weekend in September in Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania, showcases the area's rich heritage and its significant glass industry. Established in 1987, the festival aims to celebrate the community's diverse ethnic backgrounds, honor its industrial and cultural legacy, and provide fundraising opportunities for local charitable organizations. A central feature of the festival involves glass-blowing demonstrations, glass cutting displays, and a glass auction, with local glass companies highlighting their craft. The "Ethnic" aspect is brought to life through a wide array of international foods, including Mexican, Greek, Italian, and Polish cuisines. Attendees can also enjoy various other attractions, such as fireworks, carnival rides, dance performances, and diverse musical entertainment ranging from polka to jazz and country. The event culminates in a grand parade featuring bands, military units, and floats, all marching under a welcoming banner.
