The Details:

The Lackawanna River Conservation Association (LRCA) will host its annual RiverFest on Saturday, May 2, 2026, an important fundraiser celebrating the Lackawanna River. The day includes a sojourn paddle from Riverfront Park in Dickson City to Sweeney's Beach in Scranton, anticipated to take about 1.5 hours. Following the paddle, a family-friendly RiverFest celebration will take place at the new Parker Street Landing, featuring food vendors, live music by Jeremy Burke, and educational exhibits. Participants can bring their own kayaks or rent one, with specific drop-off and shuttle logistics provided for both. Registration is required by April 26, 2026, with no day-of registration available, and ACA members receive a discounted fee.
