The Details:
Support local artisans and culture this holiday season with Historic Schaefferstowns annual Christkindlmarkt This popular event is the perfect time to get some Christmas shopping done and find unique presents. A traditional Christkindlmarkt is an open-air market that takes place in many German towns and villages so that folks may enjoy their Christmas shopping among friends. Schaefferstowns Christkindlmarkt is a replica, except held indoors. For the 3rd year, Historic Schaefferstown is partnering with St. Pauls UCC in Schaefferstown to host the event. The venues address is 1304 Heidelberg Ave., Schaefferstown, PA 17088. Christkindlmarkt will open on Friday, December 8th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm and continue through Saturday, December 9th from 9:00am to 3:00pm. Parking can be found in the church parking lot off N. Carpenter St. Credit cards and cash are both accepted. Admission and parking are free. This years Christkindlmarkt features 20 different artisans selling their crafts. The market features hand-crafted works created by local artisans, including balsam wreaths and Christmas decorations, folk art wood carvings, feather trees, quilt art, hooked rugs, penny rugs, hand-woven gifts and much more. Shoppers can enjoy more history as they dine in The Franklin House, a local tavern and restaurant since 1746, and located only a short distance away from the show on the town square. It is a pleasure to watch people come from miles away to enjoy our local artisans. It is rare for anyone to walk out empty handed said Schaefferstown native, Brook May. For more information on the market and the exhibiting artisans, please visit the Facebook page @Historic Schaefferstowns Christkindlmarkt, or by calling 717-949-2244.
