Paid parking is also available along the Avenue of the Republics. The 2026 Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival is an annual spring celebration of Japanese arts and culture in Philadelphia, organized by the Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia (JASGP) and sponsored by Subaru of America, Inc. The festival showcases the beauty of Japanese sakura (flowering cherry trees) through a variety of events held throughout the city, bringing a taste of Japan to Philadelphia. Main festival activities, known as Sakura Weekend, take place on March 28-29, 2026, featuring multiple stages for performances, cultural workshops, and a vendor fair. Attendees can enjoy traditional Japanese food and wares, tea ceremonies, ikebana demonstrations, origami, face painting, and a "Pretty in Pink Pet Contest." The event also includes kimono dressing, Japanese table games, and a scavenger hunt, offering family-friendly entertainment. The festival is held rain or shine, with general admission tickets available, and JASGP members and children under 12 receiving free entry.
