Tunkhannock area residents and visitors welcome the holidays with Christmas in Our Hometown, organized by the Tunkhannock Business and Professional Association. The event is supported by Gannon Associates Insurance in partnership with Donegal Insurance Group as presenting sponsors. It features a Santa Parade, tree lighting, and over 60 decorated street lamps throughout the historic district. Numerous community groups, churches, and businesses participate, offering free treats like hot cocoa, roasted nuts, and cookies, along with wagon rides. Key attractions include the Dietrich Theater's Cookie Walk and free holiday movies, a 'Parade of Trees' at the United Methodist Church, a Living Nativity at Metcalf Mansion, and a Christmas Marketplace with over 25 vendors. Attendees can also enjoy small business shopping, workshops, book readings for kids, and photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
