The Details:

The Endless Mountains Maple Festival is like a syrup flavored Jackson Pollock painting: there are a lot of contrasting elements working together to make a beautiful masterpiece. Many might naturally assume that a monster truck rally at a maple syrup festival doesnt quite fit. Consider that kids are riding on camels and now the painting is starting to look like a Dali. But when you step back and admire the sheer scope of this two day festival, it becomes clear that everything at this festival fits perfectly together. And seriously, when doesnt a monster truck rally work It is immediately apparent that there is plenty to see and do at the Maple Festival including live entertainment, including comedians, puppeteers, magicians, a battle-of-the-bands competition that runs all weekend long, and the fabled monster truck rally at the grandstand. Also at the grandstand is a horse pull show, a tractor pull show and the world famous miniature horse pull. A petting zoo with camel rides, games, and a kiddie tractor pull are just the start of activities for kids and families. The traditional presence of craft vendors is accentuated with a flea market and a very popular 50/50 rally. Perhaps sensing the eccentric nature of the Maple Festival, and definitely adding to it, there are a couple of events which run in conjunction with the festivities. The Northeast Sweep-In plans its event to run with the festival. This conglomeration of broom makers from the eastern United States converge to practice and demonstrate their broom-making techniques and is much like their own mini-convention open of course to the public. The Bradford County Historical Village and Farm Museum aligns its seasonal opening with the festival as well and admission is free with a ticket to the festival. The village and museum are both entertaining and educational and well worth planning the time to visit The Maple Festivals original goal was to promote maple products from the area. The syrup here is fantastic, as it is in every region, except this eccentric festival really kicks up the maple goodness. There is the obligatory maple sugaring demonstrations, the bell jars and jugs of liquid gold for sale, the famous and impressive all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast. But consider new twists like maple syrup cotton candy, maple candies, and the cut-throat product judging. At the maple festival there is a peculiar dedication to setting ones self apart whilst praising the maple product in a new light
