The Details:

The Ukrainian Independence Folk Festival 2026 highlights (1) an outdoor summer concert celebrating the 35th Anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence (1:30 PM); and (2) Live Orchestra music with Social Dancing. The event features Ukrainian music, song, and dance performances, alongside Ukrainian ethnic foods, baked goods, BBQ picnic foods, beverages, refreshments for all ages, and an arts and crafts market, vendors' grove, face painting and exhibitors from Ukraine's and America's histories. It also honors Philadelphia area heroes who gave their lives defending Ukraine and also marks the 250th Anniversary of America's Declaration of Independence, highlighting shared commitments to liberty. Featured performers include the HROMOVYTSIA Ukrainian Dance Company, singer-songwriter SHANIS, VOLOSHKY Ukrainian Dance Ensemble, Spirit of the Dance Ensemble, violinist Innesa Tymochko Dekajlo, and Vox Ethnika Orchestra. A portion of each paid admission, specifically $2, will be donated to Humanitarian Aid for Victims of War in Ukraine. Featured performers include: HROMOVYTSIA Ukrainian Dance Ensemble of Chicago; VOLOSHKY Ukrainian Dance Ensembe (Phila.); SPIRIT of the DANCE Ensemble (Balt.); Singer-songwriter SHANIS (Ukraine); Violinist INNESA (Ukraine); and the Vox Ethnika Orchestra (on stage and for social dancing).
