Parking is available at a designated park-and-ride location, with free shuttle buses provided to the marathon start line for 7:15 AM runners. Participants taking the scenic train rides for the 7-Miler or 8:00 AM marathon start will likely park at the Jim Thorpe Train Station. Parking shuttles will run from the park-and-ride to the starting line until 7:45 AM.

The Jim Thorpe Area Running Festival in 2027 offers a half marathon, a 7-miler, and a full marathon, with a "Super Two-Fer" option combining the half and full events. The full marathon is a Boston Qualifier featuring a point-to-point course with a slight, steady downhill grade, making it one of the fastest BQ courses on the East Coast. All races utilize the scenic D&L and Lehigh Gorge rail trails, which are wide, smooth, hard-packed earth and gravel, running parallel to the Lehigh River through breathtaking scenery. Runners receive a tee-shirt, unique finisher's medal, free professional photos, and can participate in a post-race "Whistlestop Tour" with food and drink specials. Bib pickup is mandatory on Friday or Saturday, with no day-of pickup, and options for packet mailing or friend pickup available.
