Bundle up and enjoy the coziest night under the lights of charming and historic Uptown Somerset. Eat uptown, grab fresh popped kettle corn, shop the christkindl market and local boutiques, and enjoy the magic.

The Details:

Uptown Somerset kicks off its holiday season on November 25th. The town will be dressed to the nines in holiday decorations from larger-than- life Sweet Treat sculptures made by Somerset County high school teams to the decorated courthouse tree to 20 lives trees down main street to planters full of pine and greens and oh so many lights The day opens on Small Business Saturday with 25 businesses open and ready to present their most unique wares and great deals. Early shoppers will have the chance to score free swag bags and all over town, shop visitors can enter this years Shop Local Somerset Giveaway, racking up multiple entries with every participating shop they stop in The prize is $400 spent at the participating shops during the holiday season. Also kicking off, is this years Elves Wanted hunt sponsored by Ridgeline Computer Solutions Seekers can search the shops around town, scanning each QR code and entering the secret password. Folks who search out the most elves will be entered to win a drawing with different prizes, with the top prize of a Chromebook The hunt continues until December 15th At 2PM, the activity uptown grows with a pop up shop by the Fat Squirrel Eatery, the opening of the 4th annual Christkindl Market on the diamond featuring carefully selected artisans, and Uptown Somersets first Biergarten at 243 W Main St. featuring Trailhead Brewing Company, Artisans, and a holiday menu by Missy LaLas Biscotti. The fun continues into the evening as the streets close at 5PM, ushering in the traditional holiday parade in a caravan to light the Christmas Tree in front of the Somerset County Courthouse. The theatrics of the evening jump from the lighting of the tree to dancers on the diamond, live holiday music, a live nativity, carolers, hot cocoa, kettle corn, wagon rides, holiday express rides, a fire troupe show, uptown shopping, holiday markets, model train displays, and of course Santa and Mrs. Claus. Because of the generosity of the community, these and many other activities and entertainment continue to be free of charge for all who attend.
